Air Filters
Many people ask why they need to change their cabin filter and how often they should really replace it. The air filter is the component that cleans the air coming into your vehicle the heating, cooling and fan system and it catches all the pollen, dirt and dust that could otherwise contaminate the quality of air being circulated within your Toyota. This is especially important for people with allergies or for auto resale because having a car that smells fresh and clean can make a world of difference to some people.
How often to change your air filter really depends on where you live, how often you use your ventilation systems and how often you drive. A good 'rule of thumb' would be to change this out every 12,000 - 15,000 miles. Once of the tricky things is that when you look at the filter all alone it will not necessarily appear dirty, but as soon as you compare it to a new filter (see the image above) it will be obvious!
